The new BMW E36 GTR leaves everyone behind at the Belcar Historic Cup in SPA

by Vilius Šaltenis

Qvick motors has been doing some serious work behind the scenes lately and finally the project the Belgian team has been working on has been revealed. It was a new BMW E36 GTR with Samsonas Motorsport Universal RWD 6-speed sequential gearbox, built for historic racing. It made its debut on the legendary and very demanding Spa-Francorchamps circuit, where the Spa Summer Classic race weekend took place.

Any doubts were dispelled when Erik Qvick and Tom Van Rompuy set an impressive qualifying time of 2:33.560 in the new BMW E36 GTR car run by VR Racing, more than a second and a half faster than their nearest rivals in the Porsche 911 RSR.

The same story played out in the two races, where both Erik Qvick and Tom Van Rompuy took victories in their respective heats, proving the new car’s potential and reliability.

Here are a few videos from the race and qualifying. Check out these gear changes 🙂
