The 2025 Nascar Euro Series season began in Valencia, where all V8 5.7L-powered Toyota Camry, Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro cars have been equipped with the RS90 sequential 5-speed gearbox from Samsonas Motorsport since this year. In Valencia, the teams entered a total of 24 cars, which competed in the Pro, Open and Rookie Challenge categories. The response to the new gearboxes was fantastic:
“It was all good and we fine-tuned the car a bit. We’re trying out a few things to make improvements. The gearbox is nice and a lot of fun. We just want to go for it!”
“The feeling is good and the new gearbox makes a big difference. We started to gear up for maximum performance. Thanks to the new gearbox you can concentrate much better on your driving style. You can control the gear changes a lot better and you can really attack in the car.”
“It was nice and I tried the new gearbox, it was really fun. The car has a more sporty balance now and you have to change gears a lot. It’s an amazing feeling for a driver. We will now focus on optimizing the setup.”
“It was the first time I used the new gearbox and I like it.”
“The new gearbox is a lot of fun and I love the track here, but we feel that a break of almost six months is a long time.”
Two rounds took place in Valencia last weekend. The first round took place on Saturday, where Paul Jouffreau was the fastest in the Pro category and Thomas Krasonis took victory in the Open category. On Sunday, Thomas Krasonis won the Pro category, while Martin Doubek was victorious in the Open category.
