BMW Group 5 E21 Schnitzer Turbo Replica with Samsonas Dogbox kit

There is something very magical about the Group 5 era and the races that took place back then. Some of us have a soft spot for that era and that kind of racing, no wonder historic racing is so popular nowadays. The famous Belgian racing team Qvick Motors is becoming more and more dedicated to historic racing and has started to not only maintain and rebuild these valuable cars, but also to build them. They are currently building a limited series of 5 exact replicas of the BMW Group 5 E21 Schnitzer Turbo that won the prestigious DRM championship with Harald Ertl in 1978.

Qvick Motors first restored the original BMW Group 5 E21-R1-26, and once the car was restored to its original form with the legendary Sachs livery, work began on the replicas, of which there will be 5 in total. The first replica with chassis number E21-QM-01 is currently in operation and has been thoroughly tested. It took part in the 2022 editions of Spa Classic, Nürbürgring Oldtimer Grand Prix, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Le Mans Classic and Spa 6 Hours. The replica proved to be very reliable and highly competitive and has FIA HTP pass.

The BMW Group 5 is very similar to the original car, but has a few small differences for safety reasons, such as a roll cage and fuel system. The engine was built with brand new parts and the original gearbox housing was filled with a homologated dogbox kit from Samsonas Motorsport.
