On July 28th, drift & motorsport enthusiasts gathered at the Tipperary Motor Speedway Rosegreen Ireland to celebrate a significant milestone in Irish drifting history. The 20-Year Anniversary of the first competitive Irish drift event marked a nostalgic return to where it all began for the sport in Ireland. James Deane, one of Ireland’s most iconic motorsports athletes, delivered an unforgettable performance for the fans. Piloting his renowned and Samsonas-powered 26B Mazda RX-7. The event was a special occasion, not only celebrating the sport’s roots but also highlighting its evolution, with Deane’s performance standing as a testament to how far Irish drifting has come.
Following this nostalgic celebration, James Deane and his team immediately set their sights on Riga, Latvia, for Round 4 of the Driftmasters European Championship. Deane’s focus and skill were on full display as he qualified 3rd and went on to win the qualification showdown. The following day he secured a 2nd place finish in the main event. This impressive result marked his 13th consecutive podium in the last 13 events. With this achievement, Deane has now taken the lead in the Driftmasters European Championship standings. All this was done with James Samsonas equipped S14.9.
James Deane will head to Hungary for Round 5 of the Driftmasters European Championship on the 23rd and 24th of August, a crucial event as the series nears its conclusion. Additionally, Deane will make a special appearance at the Gravity Motor Show in the UK on Sunday the 25th of August, where he will perform demonstration runs in his fan-favorite Mazda RX-7.
