The rally season in the Baltic States begins with the Alūksne Rally in Latvia, where the first round of the Latvian and Estonian Rally Championship will be held. In this winter rally competition, 4 crews will start under the flag of Samsonas Motorsport. Emils Blūms will try to defend his titles with the Samsonas-powered Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, while Martynas Samsonas will test the newly built MV Sport Hyundai i20 VRT car, which features a unique MV Sport double wishbone suspension. Eugenijus Sladkevičius will try out the frozen Latvian roads for the first time with the Škoda Fabia N5+ car, while other Martynas Samsonas’ co-driver – Ugnius Vainevičius – will read the pacenotes for Mantas Bartkuvėnas with the Ford Fiesta Rally4.
The rally starts on January 19, a Friday, with two special stages at night and continues on Saturday morning. The crews will cover more than 90 kilometers of winter stages.
